Simon, is a trouble shooter at heart with a good dash of
creativity thrown in for good measure.
He started out as a developer after leaving university and
worked for many of the companies at the time that were
writing titles for the then hot and happening games machine
of the day, the Commodore Amiga. This gave him a good
chance to show his abilities in 68000 assembly language and
later he moved to Intel 386 as the PC became more
prominent. Not being one to take the easy route, he was
self-taught, spending many a night trying to get the most
of his code. To write code at such a low level requires
total understanding of how a computer works inside and out,
and gave Simon a wonderful platform to build his skills on.
This would prove to be his main advantage as computers and
systems evolved, he can clearly see inside technology,
understand how it works and explain it to others.
As times changed Simon made the leap into a ‘proper job’
and took the chance to help build a start up business.
He was solely responsible for building the infrastructure
for financial start up 4CAST Ltd. back in the mid 90’s. He
began by developing the companies premier financial
analysis software 4CAST Direct, which is still in use today
some 10+ years later as are all the data centre systems
running the companies website and online products. Simon
worked closely with many financial institutions during this
period to integrate the 4CAST platform, and established
offices in New York and Singapore, further expanding his
experience. Since then he has worked for a handful of
financial institutions implementing various technologies
and systems, and helping to maintain good future proof
planning. This is where he extended his love of travelling
abroad to hot countries as much as possible. Simon enjoys
the fact that technology advances allow him to work from
his Macbook Pro wherever in the world he may be.
Simon has been running SITC for nearly 4 years now and has
established a nice group of clients. All of whom are still
using our services, in fact we’ve expanded our offerings
and our clients have responded by taking further services
from us.
He’s also kept himself busy by setting up an online backup
venture, The Backup Company.
